Get Healthy… But Where To Start?!

Does a part of you want to get healthy and feel more balanced, yet the majority of you feels way too far gone and overwhelmed to even know where to begin?

Perhaps it’s been years or decades before trying to get healthy, and maybe you’ve never tried to get healthy before and now is the first time in your life that you want to begin.

So where do you start?

Of course each individual would get a unique answer if you were asking me one on one, but this advice is for all of you in finding a way to begin without allowing the overwhelm to settle in, take over, leave you feeling like a deer in headlights and ultimately giving up…

I want you to take a quiet moment to yourself, with no one else around, and I know you may never do this, but allow this to be the first time you do a form of meditation.

Now don’t get overwhelmed already! For some, the word meditation leaves them feeling overwhelmed and like they already wanna give up.

Think of meditation as any technique where you are paying close attention to something on purpose. You can also look at it as just noticing what you notice…It's watching yourself.

For the purpose of knowing where to begin on your healing journey, begin by noticing how your body feels.

So I want you to close your eyes in a quiet place and start to take some deep breaths, deep in your belly, and as you’re doing this I want you to really feel your body and scan yourself from top to bottom.

This is just a mental scan, a check in on how your body feels.

Next, notice where your body feels tight, and then move your body in the opposite direction very slowly and feel yourself intuitively stretching it out.

You do not need to watch a YouTube video or necessarily know proper positioning in order to just feel your body, feel how it wants to move. Notice how it needs to move so it can feel free.

This is where you begin. You begin by practicing listening to the sensations in your body and then listening. Next you take action, and this is the stretching you are doing through acknowledging your intuition and the way it feels.

The more you stretch your body and get used to living that way, the freer you’re going to feel, which will lead to feeling happier, which will most likely lead to you making more helpful choices in the other areas of your life.
