Spreading Yourself Too Thin? Well…STOP IT!
Do you try to spread yourself too thin and, consequently, stress yourself out?
Well, you know that this isn’t good for your health or happiness because it doesn’t feel good, it feels stressful, so what can you do about it?
I could tell you to just stop spreading yourself too thin, lol, but you would’ve already done that by now if it was that simple.
The reason why you haven’t already simply stopped doing this is because there’s a part of you that likes to spread yourself as thinly as possible getting as much done as possible, and may even like the stress!
It would be interesting to find out what that part of you really wants…
If you could engage in conversation with this part of you and ask it, what do you want for me? It may answer…
I want to get XY&Z finished so that I can feel accomplished.
If I get _____done, then ____will be so proud of me.
I want to make as much money as possible so that I can _____.
These are just examples of what this part of you might say in the beginning of the conversation, and then you can continue to question what this part wants from there.
How will this part feel once it’s able to buy what it wants, or once it’s finished and feels accomplished, what comes next after this?
Once you come to understand what the different parts of yourself really want, then you can work to program yourself to feel that way right now, whether you’re spreading yourself too thin or not.
This is how you come to unconditionally love and understand all the parts of yourself and choose how you feel, so that you can be the happiest and healthiest version of yourself right now, and program yourself to stay that way as much as possible.
