Choose Happiness, In The Dark
How do you choose happiness when in depression?
I know it can be difficult to get yourself out of sadness when it’s deep enough to call depression, but there is a way out.
First, realize that you’re choosing sadness.
Pay attention to your thoughts, especially those recurring thoughts that precede sadness.
Don’t try to heal the sadness for now, instead, take a few days to get curious and take inventory of your thoughts and feelings.
Once you do this, I think it will be obvious that it’s the recurring negative thoughts about things that you have little to no control over, that is really causing the sadness.
One way to get through this sadness and back into the light, is to engage in a conversation with the voice of the reoccurring thought.
Do this as if you’re talking to another person, and through this subconscious conversation, you will come to find that this negative thought that is currently causing you sadness, has a deeper and happier objective.
You’re going to have to take my word for it, for now, but I promise you, every part of you, no matter how negative and dark it may seem, wants you to be happy and at peace.
I have seen countless times through my own healing and guiding clients through this process that These dark parts just have a mean way to tell us what they want, but once you face them with love and curiosity, they bloom into a voice of love and light for you.
